Edmonton, AB (March 16, 2018) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce the selection of Joel Hamilton of the SAIT Trojans as the 2017-18 ACAC men's hockey top scholastic achiever.
Hamilton, from Cochrane, Alta., recorded a 3.94 GPA in Business Administration program at SAIT during the fall semester.
The fourth-year forward helped the Trojans to an 18-6-3-1 record, good for fourth place in the ACAC standings. His 28 points (eight goals, 20 assists) in 28 games led the Trojans this season, and aided him in being named an ACAC Second Team All-Conference selection.
"Joel epitomizes what it is to be a SAIT Trojan student athlete, by achieving success in both athletics and academics," says Wade Kolmel, SAIT Athletics and Recreation Director. "We are very proud to see his hard work pay off with this award."
