In Medicine Hat tonight, the SAIT Trojans travelled from Calgary tp take on the Medicine Hat College (MHC) Rattlers at the Big Marble Go Centre. The shorthanded Rattlers, who only had 9 players in uniform, hung around for the whole game but ultimately fell 66-57. A slow paced first quarter saw the Rattlers hold a slim 13-11 lead. The Trojans fought back in the second quarter and led by onw 26-25 going in to the intermission. SAIT started hitting from distance in the third quarter and stretched the lead to 7 leading 51-44 going in to the final frame. The Rattlers were able to cut in to the lead but SAIT battled back and ultimately took the game. The Trojans were led by Charlie Conner with 18 points and 6 rebounds and player of the game Amin Suleman who had 13 points and 3 steals. The Rattlers were led by big man David Hamilton who had a career high 24 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.. The two teams will meet again tomorrow in Calgary.
