Game 6 of the ACAC Men's Basketball Championships, The University of Alberta - Augustana Vikings plays The Lethbridge Kodiaks. Both teams started the game with their highest performance players and thus quickly heated the game as they scored successively to each other's basket. At the time 5:45, #7 Austin Brulotte from Augustana Vikings fell after two players from the Lethbridge Kodiaks tried to steal the ball from him. Unfortunately, Austin was unable to continue playing for the rest of the quarter and possibly, for the rest of the game. Starting the second quarter with the maximum performance, the Lethbridge Kodiaks were able to maintain their lead with the score 42-30 in the first 4 minutes of the quarter. Not letting their guard down, Augustana Vikings were starting to pump their energy out and catching up to their opponents in this quarter. 6 minutes into the quarter, the strategy that Vikings use did not seem to work for their team as the score gap was starting to get bigger (49-36 with the Kodiaks leading) and "forced" the team to call a time-out. As soon as the game continued, both teams played in a quiet fast paced and ended the quarter with the score 63-45 with the Lethbridge Kodiaks leading.
The Kodiaks maintained their energy and strategy which enabled them to keep leading the game. Both teams played in a fast flow which made the score grow faster as well. The Lethbridge Kodiaks kept playing with their highest performance and secured the points of 91 to 70 by the end of third quarter.
Both teams started the last quarter with a lower pace game and continued to do so for the half of the quarter. Tightened their defense, both teams were able to prevent their opponents scoring which made the score grew in a slower pace as well. Despite the fact that Augustana Vikings had a better strategy in their defense, they were still 25 points behind the Lethbridge Kodiaks. Strong effort of both teams but the Lethbridge Kodiaks ended the game with a win, 109-88.
