Ryan Heggie Named ACAC 2019-20 Men’s South Coach of the Year

Camrose, AB (March 4, 2020) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce Ryan Heggie of the Lethbridge College Kodiaks has been named the ACAC Men's South Coach of the Year.

Coach Heggie is in his 9th year at the helm of the Kodiaks men's basketball program. After a year's absence from the ACAC men's basketball championships, Coach Heggie put together a strong recruiting class of both youth and experience to put together one of the Kodiaks' most successful seasons on record (20-1). The Kodiaks have consistently stayed in the Top 5 of the CCAA national rankings all year. 

"We are very proud of Coach Heggie in earning this recognition," says Todd Caughlin, Manager of Kodiaks Athletics. "After not making the championships in the 2018-19 season, Ryan worked very hard in the offseason recruiting and that work is showing itself now. Coach Heggie has put together an unselfish group of young men that just want to play and win. Combine that with Ryan's experience and he has definitely earned this recognition!" 

Ryan Heggie received the award on Wednesday, March 4th, 2020 at the ACAC Men's Basketball Conference Championship Banquet held in Camrose, AB.
