Hard Fought Game Falls in Favor of Trojans

In the first match up of the year, the Lightning took on in-town rival. the Sait Trojans. A close and exciting game throughout, the Trojans took a 79-78 win off a last second basket to seal the win. After the first quarter, the Trojans had a a 17-9 lead, but the Lightning came back with a strong second quarter to take a 37-36 lead into halftime. A close second half saw the Lightning pull away by as much as 7, but the Trojans came climbing back, and were able to seal the win by a last second layup from Gemi Muya-Ntalaja. The Players of the Game were awarded to the Trojans Charlie Conner, who had 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists, and the Lightning's Ryan Morck who had 25 points, and 8 rebounds. The Lightning fall to 5-7 on the year, and the Trojans jump to 8-3. The two teams will match up again tomorrow night at the Sait Campus Centre at 8:00pm.
