GPRC Host Double Header Against LAKELAND Rustlers

The Wolves welcomed the LAKELAND Rustlers to their gym for game 2 on the weekend. Wolves are coming off a loss in their gym Friday night so they are eager to get the W.

The Wolves open the game with back to back buckets from #9 Joshua Burnstad. The Rustlers sink a couple, before Joshua Burnstad puts another 2 on the board. Lakeland will make a 3 point make and go up 15-10, Burnstad answers with another bucket, that's 6 on the afternoon for him. Lakeland drops a few more buckets before the buzzer and the quarter ends 31:24 Rustlers.

2nd quarter the Wolves find themselves down 15 early. Liam O'Hallahan goes to the line late in the quarter and goes 2 for 2, brings the Wolves within 9. The quarter would end that way 47-38 for the Wolves.

Wolves start the 3rd with 3 quick hoops to the Rustlers 2. Wolves come within 5 before Lakeland responds going 2 for 2 from the line. #3 Terrell Murdaugh sinks back to back 3's and suddenly they are up 13. It was fast paced 3rd quarter, with buckets at both ends, when Lakeland needed a timeout with 4 minutes to play. Liam O'Hallahan goes to 2 for 2 out of the time out and they are within 9 points. The quarter would end 66:54

Lakeland was first to score before Noe Tchomo goes 1 for 2 from the line. Noe goes on a fast break to finish with a bucket. Wolves call a timeout and can't seem to get within 10 of the Rustlers. Noe can't miss and hits another field goal. A block by Manny IIoka translates into a 3 point make by #4 Jeremy Pynn. Wolves down by 9 and the Lakeland needs a timeout. Back to back triples for Jeremy Pynn and they are within 6. Lakelands responds before Liam sinks a banked 3. Rustler don't let go and respond with another 3 point make. After Manny IIoka puts one of the backboard for 2, Lakeland calls another time out. Wolves are down by 3, 3 minutes to go. Both teams fight hard to the end, game ends 85:81 Rustlers.

Player of the Game for the LAKELAND Eagles was #3 Terrell Murdaugh with 20 points and for the GPRC Wolves #9 Joshua Burnstad with 10 points
