MBB| Kodiaks deliver first loss to Rattlers
Oct.26th -- The Lethbridge College Kodiaks are back in action on their home court for the second time this season playing their rival team, the Medicine Hat Rattlers.
Both teams started out strong with back to back shots, keeping the gap close while each team fought to get on top.
The Rattlers managed to give up a small 5-point lead to the Kodiaks, leaving the score 26 to 21 at the end of the first quarter.
The Kodiaks struggled to keep Rattlers players out of their zone, allowing them to sneak a few baskets in and gain a small lead midway through the 2nd quarter, but the Kodiaks kept fighting hard to close the gap and regain the lead from their opponents.
Ultimately, it was an amazing pass from Orin Porter Jr. to Jett Stef resulted in a tie score of 40 to 40 and led to the Kodiaks building the momentum they needed to steal back the lead heading into the half with a score of 48-46.
In the start of the 3rd quarter the Kodiaks managed to push their points up to 10-point gap by some impressive fast breaks across the floor.
An aggressive altercation under the Rattlers net raised emotions and led to the ejection of Rattlers Osato Obaseki and Kodiaks Jett Stef.
Ending the 3rd quarter in a nail biter, the Rattlers made their come-back bid a series of last-minute shots, but the Kodiaks held the lead with a tight 69-67 score.
Building off the intensity of the last quarter, the Kodiaks came out hot for the final 10 minutes, regaining their buffer over the Rattlers with some fast feet and resourceful shots.
Kodiaks Michael Clemons proved his dominance on the court through a series of key shots and unwavering leadership skills, ultimately leading the Kodiaks to a 103-92 victory, giving the Rattlers their first loss of the season.
