Neil Nystrom Named ACAC 2017-18 Men’s South Division Basketball Coach of the Year

Lethbridge, AB (February 28, 2018) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce Neil Nystrom of the Ambrose University Lions has been named the ACAC Men's Basketball Coach of the Year.

Neil Nystrom is in his 5th year coaching the Lions, two years in the former Alberta Colleges Athletic League (ACAL) and now his third year with the Lions in the ACAC. He took the team to an ACAL Championship and won Coach of the Year in that league, and he has helped the team make the significant jump to the ACAC very progressively through its first three years. The team has improved steadily and narrowly missed the playoffs this year in the very competitive ACAC South Division. 

"Neil and his coaching staff have done a wonderful job with our Men's Basketball team. I am thrilled that he has received this honor and is being recognized for the great job he has done introducing a new team into the extremely tough ACAC South division. He has worked diligently to establish culture, focus on progress, and build into the lives of his young student-athletes, and we are very happy for him." Neil Nystrom received the award on February 28th, 2018 at the ACAC Men's Basketball Conference Championship Banquet held in Lethbridge, AB.
