Reagan Wood Named ACAC 2017-18 Male Basketball North Division Coach of the Year
EDMONTON, AB (February 28, 2018) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce Reagan Wood of the Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder has been named the ACAC Male Basketball Coach of the Year.
Coach Wood is in his 5th season as the Thunder men's basketball head coach and has led his team to an impressive 19-5 record, finishing the regular season on top of the ACAC north division. The Thunder were consistently climbing the national rankings each week and would reach as far as 6th in the country.
Coach Wood received ACAC North Coach of the Year honors in his first season as the head coach in 2012-13. The following year (2013-14) he would lead the Thunder to a silver medal performance at the ACAC Championship, earning the program's first ever trip to the CCAA National Championship where they would finish 7th. In 2016-17, Coach Wood was named ACAC North Coach of the Year for a second time after guiding the Thunder to a 20-4 record claiming the regular season division title.

There is no doubt that this is due to the tremendous amount of effort Coach Wood puts into ensuring a positive student experience mixed in with a high-performance basketball setting. Reagan received the award on February 28th, 2018 at the ACAC Men's Basketball Conference Championship Banquet held in Lethbridge, AB.
