Rustlers defeat Wolves 87-84

The Lakeland Rustlers defeated the Grande Prairie Wolves 87-84 Friday night in Lloydminster.

The Rustlers came out strong in the first quarter, holding the Wolves to 18 points while finding a variety of ways to score.  The Rustlers led 28-18 after the first quarter.  The Wolves fought back in the second quarter with strong defense and offense, cutting into the Rustlers lead.  At the half, the Rustlers led 41-40.  The two teams would go back and forth in the second half, trading baskets.  The Rustlers were aggressive and able to draw fouls on the Wolves, allowing them to build a 63-59 lead heading into the fourth quarter.  The Wolves cut the Rustlers lead to 2 early in the fourth, but could not get any closer, as the Rustlers hung on to win 87-84.

Player of the Game for the Rustlers was #2, PJ Gardner.  Player of the Game for the Wolves was #24, Kenny Johnson.
