"Battle for the Kingdom" lives up to all expectations!

The Ambrose Men's and Women's Basketball Teams went head to head tonight in a timeless classic matchup with their Christian University rivals, the Briercrest Clippers. It was Alumni appreciation night at the Lion's Den and the Gym was packed with current and former Ambrose students and athletes; the environment in the gymnasium was electric.

After a hard fought battle, the Women's team fell short of victory, losing to the Clippers 73-67. Julie Mireles took home Player of the Game Honours for the Lions, finishing with 12 points.

The Men's team fought hard, shooting a blazing 61% from the field in the first quarter and jumping out to a 21. The Clippers, however, were able to rally and cut the lead down to 11 points before the Lions were able to buckle down and finish off the game strong and come away with the victory. The final score in the game was 74-56 for the Lions with Rookie Kyle Swiednicki receiving the Player of the Game Award off of an 11 point, 4 rebound performance.

The Lion's will be facing off against the Clippers again tomorrow afternoon in the Lion's Den at 1 and 3 pm. Make sure to come out or tune in online at acactv.ca . Let's Go Lions. #HeartheRoar
