ACAC Golf Regional #1 Day One Recap: A Heated Battle at Coal Creek Golf Resort

Day 1: Hot Temperatures and Hot Scores

On the men's side, Michael Valk from Medicine Hat College stole the show, carding an impressive 5-under-par (-5) to lead after the first round. Tied for second at +1 were Mason Gorksi from NAIT and Jaden Patel from SAIT. Blake Feth from NAIT followed in fourth place at +4, while SAIT's Malcolm Garrity closed the day in fifth with +5. Three players—Evan Couch (Concordia), Rylan Hodgson (Medicine Hat), and Jackson Stryranka (SAIT)—were tied for sixth at +6.

On the women's side, Concordia's Lauryn Psutka led after the first round with a score of +9, showing strong form in the heat. NAIT's Ella Dolan followed in second at +15, while Taryn Sanderson from Medicine Hat and Ella Gifford from Concordia were tied for third at +22.

In the men's team event, Medicine Hat College held the lead after round one with a combined score of +16. NAIT was close behind in second at +23, and SAIT rounded out the top three at +24. In the women's team competition, Concordia led comfortably with +31, followed by Medicine Hat at +53 and NAIT at +55.
