EDMONTON, AB (September 23, 2022) – The 2022 ACAC Golf Championships hosted by Concordia University of Edmonton got underway Friday, with the first round being played at RedTail Landing Golf Club. The day was a mix of windy rainy weather and sunny heat, as the golfers fought through a mixture of weather.

On the men's side, Medicine Hat's Chase Broderson and SAIT's Brodie Shields-Tyler both shot a 69 to come in three strokes under par and tie for the lead through the first round. Medicine Hat's Jayden Dudas shot a two under 70 to round out the top three. In the team standings, Medicine Hat College is sitting in first place two under par, with SAIT in second and Concordia rounding out the top three.

In the women's individual event, Concordia's Ella Gifford shot an 82 to take the lead after the first round, with Medicine Hat's Libby Bourassa only five strokes behind at 87. SAIT's Janey Wilson rounded out the top three shooting an 92, sitting within striking distance after the first round.

The second round gets going tomorrow afternoon, with the first group set to tee off around noon.
