Curling Winter Regional Saturday, January 17 – Round-Robin Play Continues
Edmonton, AB - Saturday marked the busiest day of competition, with Draws 3, 4, and 5 pushing teams through the middle portion of the round robin.
Men's Division
Draw 3 saw NAIT deliver one of the weekend's most lopsided results with a 12–2 win over Augustana. Concordia followed with a strong 10–3 victory against Lakeland, while SAIT defeated Red Deer Polytechnic 8–5.
In Draw 4, NAIT edged Lakeland 7–6 in one of the tightest games of the weekend. Red Deer Polytechnic responded with a 9–3 win over Augustana, and Concordia earned an 8–4 victory against SAIT.
Saturday concluded with Draw 5, where Concordia defeated NAIT 6-1, Red Deer Polytechnic earned a 9–2 win over Lakeland, and SAIT closed the day with a 9–0 victory over the Augustana Vikings.
Women's Division
Saturday's women's play opened with Draw 3, where SAIT defeated NAIT 7–4. Lakeland continued its strong weekend with a 9–5 win over Concordia, while Red Deer Polytechnic earned a 6–2 victory against Portage College.
Draw 4 featured another close contest, with SAIT narrowly defeating Red Deer Polytechnic 7–6. Concordia followed with a 6–1 win over Portage College, and Lakeland closed the draw with a dominant 10–1 victory against Augustana.
Women's play wrapped up Saturday with Draw 5, featuring several decisive results. Lakeland continued its performance with a 9–4 victory over NAIT, while Augustana earned a convincing 10–4 win against Portage College. Concordia closed the draw with an 8–2 win over Red Deer Polytechnic, maintaining momentum as the round-robin play progressed.
Mixed Division
Mixed play on Saturday featured decisive results. SAIT delivered a 12–0 shutout against Concordia, while NAIT earned an 8–5 win over Lakeland as the division moved deeper into round-robin play.
The division concluded Saturday with a dominant performance across the board. Lakeland delivered an 11–1 win over Concordia, while SAIT capped off the draw with an 8–4 victory against NAIT, rounding out a competitive day as teams moved deeper into the round-robin.
