Vikings, Kings and Ruslters are Golden

CAMROSE, AB - After two long years new ACAC curling champions were crowned after two long days at the 2022 ACAC Curling Championship, Sunday night at the Rose City Curling Club.

Gold medals were handed out to the RDP Kings, the Augustana Vikings Women's team and the Lakeland Rustlers Mixed team.

Walking away with silver medals around their neck were the Augustana Men's team, RDP Queens and the NAIT Ooks Mixed team. Rounding out the podium with bronze were the NAIT Ooks Men's and Women's teams and the SAIT Trojans Mixed team.

Claiming gold in the quickest gold game where the RDP Kings with a 6-2 win over the Vikings, in an upset victory after the Vikings went 4-0 through the round robin.

Controlling the game from start to finish were the Rustlers to win the mixed gold, jumping out to large lead to win 10-4 at the end of the day.

Rounding out the medal round were the RDP Queens and Vikings. Alone on the ice with all eyes on them, Josie Zimmerman drew straight to the button to take a 7-4 win after the Queens were sitting two.

Concordia Thunder Women claimed to biggest upset of the weekend on day with a 10-5 win over the gold medist to close out the round robin games.
