Wong/Ivy Win Gold in Mixed Doubles Badminton Championship

Olds, AB (March 6, 2022) - The second day ended with the Mixed Doubles event. The event saw 10 teams entered into the draw with all four institutions being represented in one of the final medal matches.

The gold medal match featured Davis Wong and Ivy Ung of the NAIT Ooks taking on Salvador Robles-Gonzales and Johnna Rymes of the Concordia University Thunder. The silver medal was the second medal of the day for Salvador Robles-Gonzales as he previously won the bronze medal in the Men's Doubles event. The silver medal was Johnna Rymes second of the day as she also finished second in the Women's Single event.

The duo rounding out the podium was Priyanna Ramdhani and Tye Belanger as they took home the bronze medal for the host Olds College Broncos as they defeated Chanel Simrose and Alex Stewart of The King's University Eagles. The medal was Ramdhani's third of the day as she had previously won a bronze medal in the Women's Singles event followed by a silver medal in the Women's Doubles event.
