NAIT and Concordia standout at Badminton Tournament #2

Edmonton, AB – The second ACAC Badminton tournament was held at The King's University on Sunday, January 19, 2020 featuring Concordia, King's, NAIT, and OLDS.  NAIT and Concordia had a stand out weekend as they led the tournament in points.

In men's singles, Roymond Kim (NAIT) fought hard to secure a semifinal win (21-18, 21-17) over King's nationally ranked Narayan Ramdhani.  Kim then went on to skillfully defeat Pittman of Concordia 21-10 in the second match to win the title.

In women's singles, it was an all Concordia final with Takeisha Wang overpowering Johnna Rymes 21-19, 21-10.  This is Wang's second consecutive tournament win as she championed the ACAC tournament in November, hosted at OLDS.

The champions in the doubles events include,

Men's doubles – Alex Fung and Roymond Kim (NAIT)

Women's doubles – Jasleen Kaur and Takeisha Wang (Concordia)

Mixed doubles – Alex Fung and Eyota Kwan (NAIT)

The next badminton tournament will be held at Concordia University of Edmonton on February 2, 2020.
