ACAC Golf Season Tees Off in Style at Mill Woods

EDMONTON, AB- The 2025 ACAC Golf season teed off in style as Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) hosted the opening Regional at Mill Woods Golf Club on September 7–8. Perfect fall conditions and plenty of action on the leaderboard made for an unforgettable weekend of competition.

Concordia’s own Hayden Prins stole the spotlight on the men’s side, firing a lights-out -6 across two rounds to claim the individual crown. He set the pace early and never looked back, holding off a late charge from Rylan Hodgson of the Medicine Hat (MHC) Rattlers, who finished just one shot behind at -5. Not to be outdone, NAIT Ooks Mason Gorski surged up the leaderboard on day two with a clutch performance, locking down third place. When the team standings were tallied, it was NAIT’s men who walked away with top honours, combining for a steady +7 overall.

On the women’s side, it was all CUE Thunder, all weekend. Ella Gifford, the reigning ACAC Golfer of the Year, picked up right where she left off, cruising to victory with a score of +17. Her teammates weren’t far behind—Lauryn Psutka secured second place at +21, and Ava Stach rounded out the sweep with a third-place finish at +28. Their dominant showing also earned the Thunder women a commanding team title.

With a thrilling mix of tight finishes, breakout performances, and home-course heroics, Regional #1 set the tone for what promises to be a competitive ACAC Golf season. Fans won’t want to miss what comes next as the SAIT Trojans host the ACAC Golf Regional #2 at the Lynx Ridge Golf Club on September 12-13.
