2024-2025 ACAC Women's Hockey Rookie of The Year

Women's Hockey Rookie of the Year | KELLY STANFORD | NAIT Ooks:
The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Kelly Stanford of the NAIT Ooks has been selected as the 2024-2025 ACAC Women’s Hockey Rookie of the Year.
Kelly Stanford has had an outstanding debut season with the NAIT Ooks. The Edmonton, Alberta native quickly became a key contributor, showcasing her skill, vision, and all-around game.
Stanford played in all 24 conference games, tallying an impressive 30 points, with 11 goals and 19 assists. Her ability to create scoring opportunities and finish around the net was a significant asset for the Ooks. She also proved to be a reliable presence in all situations, contributing a power-play goal and excelling on both ends of the ice.
NAIT women's hockey head coach Brendan Jensen praised Stanford's impact on the team, stating: "Kelly was a significant piece to our team this season and played a true 200-foot game that helped us at both ends of the rink. Her offensive contributions speak for themselves as she was a tremendous puck distributor and had a gifted touch around the net all year!"
With a phenomenal rookie season behind her, Stanford has firmly established herself as a top player in the ACAC. Her playmaking ability, scoring touch, and all-around game make her a key piece of the Ooks' future success.
This prestigious award will be recognized at the 2025 ACAC Women’s Hockey Championship hosted by Lakeland College in Lloydminster, Alberta.
