2024-2025 ACAC Women's Hockey Coach of The Year

2024-2025 ACAC Women's Hockey Coach of The Year

Edmonton, AB (March 9, 2025) –

Women's Hockey Coach of the Year | Amanda McLeod | SAIT Trojans:

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce Amanda McLeod of the SAIT Trojans has been named the 2024-2025 ACAC Women’s Hockey Coach of the Year.

In her third season as head coach of the Trojans, Amanda McLeod has made a remarkable impact on the program. When she took over in 2022, SAIT’s women’s hockey team had missed the playoffs in three of the last four seasons, facing adversity in a skilled league. Under her leadership, the Trojans have successfully made the playoffs in each of the last two seasons, a significant turnaround that highlights McLeod’s dedication to building a competitive and resilient team & fostering an environment that strives for more.

McLeod’s deep hockey background, including her time as a captain with the Penn State Nittany Lions in NCAA Division 1, has been instrumental in shaping the team’s culture. Her experience as both a player and coach—having previously worked with the Rocky Mountain Raiders U18AA and U15AA teams—has allowed her to relate to her athletes on a personal and professional level, ensuring a balance between development on the ice and growth as individuals. Congratulations Amanda!

"We are thrilled to see Amanda recognized by her peers and the hockey community for what we at the Trojans have always known—she is a rising star in women's hockey. Amanda works incredibly hard, is extremely organized and does not settle for less than the best. She has poured her heart into building this program up, and we believe the Trojans Women's Hockey team is just getting started. Congratulations, Amanda!" – SAIT Trojans Manager of Athletics, Lauren Kucera

This prestigious award will be recognized at the 2025 ACAC Women’s Hockey Championship hosted by Lakeland Rustlers in Lloydminster, AB.
