A Clash of Champions: 2025 ACAC Volleyball Title on the Line

Edmonton, AB (February 16, 2025) - The Augustana Vikings are proud to host the Elite Promotional Marketing 2025 ACAC Women's Volleyball Championship from February 20 – 22, 2025, in Camrose, AB.

The top women's teams from across the conference will battle for the ACAC title and a coveted spot at the 2025 CCAA Women's Volleyball National Championship in Oshawa, ON. This year, the ACAC has also secured the wildcard spot, meaning the conference will be represented by its top two teams at Nationals. The Lakeland Rustlers enter the tournament as the team to beat, having dominated the regular season while dropping just one set all year. With back-to-back ACAC titles and a national championship already to their name, they are determined to defend both titles.

However, the competition has been top-tier all season, and several teams are eager to challenge the Rustlers' dominance. In the South Division, the Ambrose Lions (S3, 12-7), Briercrest Clippers, Red Deer Queens, and SAIT Trojans (S4, 11-8) have all secured playoff berths. The Trojans, making their first postseason appearance since 2019, add another layer of excitement to this year's championship. The Clippers and Queens finished the regular season with identical 13-6 records, proving their consistency and ability to compete at a high level. The Ambrose Lions put together an impressive 10-game win streak during the regular season, showing they know what it takes to stay consistent and competitive. They will look to fourth-years Brooklyn Deol (middle) and Elise Wagner (left side) to guide their team to success.

Meanwhile, in the North Division, the NAIT Ooks (N3, 12-7) were the only team to take a set off Lakeland this season, revealing their ability to push the defending champions. The King's Eagles (N2, 13-6) enter the championship as a strong contender, led by Brooke Risselada, who has been one of the conference's top offensive threats all season.

As for the host Augustana Vikings, they may be ranked fifth in the North (9-10), but they are not to be overlooked. Third-year middle blocker Brooke McBride finished at the top of the conference's blocks per set leaderboard (0.84), while fourth-year libero Racquel Lussier was second in the conference for digs per set (3.94). With home-court advantage, the Vikings will look to bring a competitive edge and make their mark on the championship.

The action unfolds from February 20-22 at the Augustana Gymnasium in Camrose, AB, where the conference's best will battle for ACAC supremacy.
