2024 ACAC Golf Rookies of the Year

Female Rookie of the Year | ELLA DOLAN | NAIT Ooks:
The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Ella Dolan of the NAIT Ooks has been selected as the 2024-25 ACAC Women’s Golf Rookie of the Year.
In her inaugural season competing in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC), Ella Dolan made an immediate impact on the ACAC.
Dolan's season kicked off with a remarkable showing at the first ACAC regional event, where she secured a second-place finish. She continued to build on this success in the second regional, finishing third but improving her score by five strokes over her previous performance.
Her momentum carried into the ACAC Championship, where Dolan delivered another standout performance, finishing third overall to earn the ACAC Bronze Medal and secure a spot in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) National Championship.
Throughout the season, Dolan demonstrated remarkable consistency, but it was during the ACAC Championship that she achieved her best round of the season, shooting an impressive 78 in the second round.
"We are so proud of Ella winning the 2024 ACAC Golf Women's Rookie of the Year. Ella is a very deserving individual for this award, both on and off the golf course. We are looking forward to seeing what the CCAA National Championship has in store for Ella and are excited to see Ella tee it up for the Ooks for years to come," said Head Coach Tyler Leicht.
Dolan, the first-year Bachelor of Business Administration student from Edmonton, Alberta, has been a great addition to the NAIT Ooks golf program.
Male Rookie of the Year | MALCOLM GARRITTY | SAIT Trojans:
The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Malcolm Garrity of the SAIT Trojans has been selected as the 2024 ACAC Golf Male Rookie of the Year.
Malcolm Garrity has had an impressive season representing the SAIT Trojans in his inaugural year with the ACAC, showcasing both individual talent and team success.
At Regional #1, he finished 4th overall with a +12 total to par, contributing to the men's team's first-place finish. In Regional #2, the Trojans again secured the top spot, reinforcing their dominance.
The highlight of Malcolm's season came at the ACAC Championships, where he finished an outstanding 2nd place with a remarkable -6 total to par, further aiding the men's team to yet another first-place victory. With these accomplishments under his belt, Malcolm is now focused on making a significant impact at the upcoming CCAA Nationals.
Malcolm is a 1st year student at SAIT Polytechnic, enrolled in the 4 year Bachelor of Business Administration program. His hometown is Airdrie, Alberta.
