Bre was selected to the 2nd ACAC All-Conference team.

"Being able to balance the life of a student-athlete is no small task and Bre is very deserving of this award. She is very diligent in the details on the ice as a leader and takes the same approach off the ice in the classroom." – Head Coach Brendan Jensen

KAYLIN SCHELLENBERG - SAIT TROJANS

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce Kaylin Schellenberg of the SAIT Trojans as the 2022-23 ACAC Women's Hockey Top Scholastic Achiever.

Schellenberg, a third-year goalie from Calgary, Alta., balanced athletics and academics tremendously this past season, maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA in SAIT's Architectural Technologies program during the fall semester while becoming an ACAC First Team All-Conference selection.

"Kaylin is one of the leaders on a very young Trojans women's hockey team and rightfully so," said Wade Kolmel, Director of SAIT Trojans Athletics and Recreation. "Her ability to manage her time well has resulted in success on the ice and in the classroom and should serve as an inspiration for her teammates looking to achieve the same things. We are very proud of Kaylin and congratulate her on this honour."

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce Brett Trentham of the SAIT Trojans as the 2022-23 ACAC Men's Hockey Top Scholastic Achiever.

Trentham also earned his first ACAC All-Conference selection, picking up Second Team honours.

"In just his first year at SAIT, Brett has become a leader due to his dedication to both hockey and his studies," said Wade Kolmel, Director of SAIT Athletics. "Balancing school and athletics is difficult for any student-athlete at any level and Brett has shown that success can be found in both disciplines. He should be very proud to win this award.

DOMINIK TMEJ - BRIERCREST CLIPPERS

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce Dominik Tmej of the Briercrest Clippers as the 2022-23 ACAC Men's Hockey Top Scholastic Achiever.

Tmej, who is in his second season with the Clippers, achieved a 4.0 GPA in the BA Business Administration program at Briercrest in the fall semester.

The Briercrest goaltender, who hails from Bradenton, Florida, had an outstanding season for the Clippers on the ice as well. He was named ACAC First-Team All-Conference and helped his team to their best regular season record ever since the program joined the ACAC in 1997-98, while he led the league in games played, finished third overall in goals against, and second overall in save percentage!

"In my first season coaching at the college level, I've learned just how difficult it is for our student-athletes to balance the responsibilities of being both a full-time hockey player and a full-time student", said Briercrest Head Coach, Sam Klassen.

Klassen continued: "The enormity of this challenge is what makes Dom's accomplishments this season so impressive, both on and off the ice. His work ethic and discipline are second to none, and he has built valuable habits into his daily routine that have set him up for success. He leads the way on our team in what it looks like to pursue excellence in all things, including in the classroom with his studies."
