2021-22 ACAC Women’s Hockey Coach of The Year
Edmonton, AB (March 23, 2022) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce Chris Leeming of the Olds College Broncos has been named the ACAC Women’s Hockey Coach of the Year.
Chris Leeming began his tenure as head coach of the women’s hockey program at Olds College in the 2017-18 season and was previously named ACAC women's hockey Coach of the Year for the 2019-20 season.
A native of Harrow, Ontario, Leeming joined the Broncos family after four seasons as an assistant coach with the University of Windsor women’s hockey team in the OUA Conference of U Sports from 2013-2017.
During this time, Leeming also attended the University of Windsor, and earned a B.A. Honours degree in Criminology and Political Science, as well as a Bachelor of Education degree.
Prior to that, he served as an assistant coach for the Amherstburg Admirals Jr. C hockey club in the 2013-2014 season, and for the Lasalle Vipers Jr. B hockey club from 2010-2013.
Leeming is a High Performance Level 1 certified coach, and has experience working with the OHL/OHF U15 Program of Excellence development camps. He has additional experience as both a video coach and statistical analyst, and has worked skill development camps for ten years.
Also an experienced player, Leeming’s playing career included a stint with the Oshawa Generals of the OHL, the Bowmanville Eagles of the OJHL, as well as time with the Lasalle Vipers of the GOJHL, with whom he was part of the 2009-2010 Sutherland Cup Jr. B Championship winning team.
Leeming's coaching resume also includes head coach for the Alberta Winter Games with Zone 5 in 2020 and Zone 3 in 2019, and guest coach for Team Alberta U18 Selection Camps in Spring 2018 and Summer 2019.

Congratulations Chris on your second ACAC Women’s Hockey Coach of the Year award”, stated Broncos Athletics Manager Trina Radcliffe.
This prestigious award will be recognized at the 2022 Women’s Hockey Championship.
