Naeem Haque Honoured as 2021-22 ACAC Badminton Coach of the Year
Edmonton, AB (March 3, 2022) –
The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce Naeem Haque of The King’s University (TKU) Badminton team has been named the ACAC Badminton Coach of the Year.
Naeem has been involved in coaching badminton for almost thirty years including junior/senior high, post-secondary athletes and a number of nationally recognized competitors. He has previously been honoured with the Badminton Alberta “Excellence in Coaching” award, and this award will mark the third time Naeem has received the ACAC Coach of the Year, having received it in 2003-04 and 2014-15. In addition to these awards, Naeem was also recognized as the CCAA Coach of the Year in 2003-04.
King’s Athletic Director, Grace Scott, commented that “Naeem came to King’s with a very specific plan for building our badminton program towards attaining national level athletes by increasing our competitiveness a little every year. He has done a tremendous job of not only attaining this goal, but building into the lives of our student-athletes as well.”
This prestigious award will be recognized at the 2022 ACAC Badminton Championship hosted by Olds College in Olds, Alberta.
