Stephen Yanitski Named ACAC 2021 Golf Coach of the Year

(OCTOBER 4, 2021) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce Stephen Yanitski of SAIT has been named the ACAC Golf Coach of the Year.

Yanitski earns the award in his third season at SAIT, starting back in the fall of 2018 when the Trojans reinstated their team after last competing in the ACAC back in the 2001-02 season. He becomes the first golf coach from SAIT to earn the award since its inception back in 2010-11.

"We are extremely excited that Coach Yanitski has been named this season's ACAC Golf Coach of the Year" said Trojans Director of Athletics, Wade Kolmel. "Leading our golf team back into the ACAC has been no small feat, and he has improved his results in each of his three seasons. His commitment to excellence is second to none and we congratulate him on this honour."

The change to the ACAC golf season because of COVID-19 allowed for just three days of competition, in which his team put up impressive scores each time out. After the third and final round was completed, his men's team had won silver, while the Trojans women's and mixed team captured bronze.

Coach Yanitski received the award on Oct. 3, 2021 at the ACAC Golf Championships at Alberta Springs Golf Resort in Red Deer, Alta.
