Kennedy Turcotte Honored as 2021 ACAC Female Golfer of the Year

 

(OCTOBER 4, 2021) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Kennedy Turcotte of Concordia University of Edmonton has been selected as the 2021 ACAC Female Golfer of the Year.  Award sponsored by Alberta Golf.

Kennedy had an outstanding season for the Thunder after leading the women's competition through three rounds of play at the ACAC Golf Championships to shoot an incredible +15 overall, 68 strokes ahead of the rest of the field. Kennedy's consistent play and dominant performance had a major impact on the overall mixed team score allowing the Thunder to claim the ACAC Mixed Team Silver Medal.

Although this is only Kennedy's third year competing for the Thunder, it will be her finally year since she has been accepted into the Chiropractic Program at Palmer College and will be moving to Florida this winter. It was a bittersweet moment for Director of Athletics & Recreation, Joel Mrak, to see Kennedy compete in her last ACAC competition as a member of the Thunder, stating, "Kennedy has been an amazing ambassador for Concordia and ACAC Golf. She made an immediate impact to the Thunder golf program in her first year and it has been a pleasure watcher her develop as an athlete and an individual. Being named ACAC Golfer of the Year is an amazing accomplishment, Concordia University of Edmonton and the Thunder Athletics department are very proud of Kennedy and we wish her all the best on her future endeavors. Congratulations Kennedy!"

After being the ACAC Golf runner up two years in a row, the Bachelor of Science major from Falher, AB has finally achieved her goal of being named ACAC Golf Champion. This prestigious award was presented to Kennedy Turcotte at the 2021 ACAC Golf Championship held on October 3rd, 2021 at the Alberta Springs Golf Resort in Red Deer, AB.
