ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Joao Nascimento was the decisive factor in the Rattlers Men's Futsal Championship Gold win, scoring a hat-trick in the final against the NAIT Ooks.
Throughout the tournament, Joao started every game, setting the tempo for the Rattlers. He anchored a stout, vocal defense while providing an extremely skilled offensive threat. Finishing the championship with seven points in just three games, Joao proved to be the centerpiece of the Rattlers' success.
Defending their title on home turf, the Rattlers reached the gold medal game fueled by a massive home crowd. Nascimento used that energy to his advantage, scoring the first three goals of the match to give the Rattlers a commanding 3-0 lead. Following the victory, Joao was named Player of the Game and Tournament MVP, leading his team to the 2025-2026 ACAC Futsal Championship banner.
Hailing from Fortaleza, Brazil, Nascimento is currently in his first year of the Kinesiology program at Medicine Hat College, and in his third season with the Rattlers.
