ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

5th-year student-athlete Aneilia Ayotte delivered a standout performance over the weekend, leading The King’s University to a historic achievement as the program captured its first-ever ACAC gold medal.
Ayotte played a pivotal role throughout the championship tournament, consistently leading by example and making a significant impact on both ends of the floor. Her leadership, experience, and composure helped guide the team through three intense matchups on their path to the title. The tournament began Thursday night in the quarter-final against the Lethbridge Kodiaks. Ayotte set the tone early with an impressive all-around performance, finishing the game with 26 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 assists. Her offensive efficiency and defensive pressure helped
The King’s University secure a strong start to the weekend and advance to the semi-finals. Ayotte carried that momentum into Friday’s semi-final matchup against the Concordia Thunder. Once again, she proved to be a dominant presence on the court, recording 19 points and 13 rebounds. Her ability to control the paint, create scoring opportunities, and battle on the boards played a crucial role in helping the team earn a spot in the ACAC Championship final. In the championship game against the NAIT Ooks, Ayotte stepped up once more in the biggest moment of the season.
She delivered another strong performance with 18 points and 13 rebounds, providing stability, leadership, and consistent production throughout the game. Her efforts helped The King’s University secure the victory and claim the program’s first ACAC gold medal. Across the three games, Ayotte totaled 63 points and 31 rebounds, showcasing her ability to perform under pressure and contribute in every aspect of the game.
Her consistency, determination, and leadership were key factors in The King’s University’s historic championship run. Off the court, Ayotte is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science while also serving as a team captain. She is a respected leader within the program and a role model for her teammates.

The King’s University is heading to the CCAA National Championships at Dawson College in Montreal, Quebec. Having earned a spot among the top eight teams in the country, they are set to face some of the toughest competition from across Canada.
