Ashlee Walker, Concordia Thunder, Women's Cross Country

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Ashlee Walker capped off her dominant season at the ACAC Cross Country Running Championships hosted by the NWP Wolves this past weekend, where she earned gold with a time of 23:22, officially qualifying for the CCAA National Championships in Prince Edward Island on November 8th. A second-year Bachelor of Arts student from Sherwood Park, Alberta, she was also the recipient of the ACAC Female Runner of the Year award and a ACAC Cross Country All-Conference selection this week. 
 
Walker has been a force to be reckoned with all season, establishing herself as one of the conference’s top competitors. She captured first place at Grand Prix #1 hosted by Concordia with a time of 24:35, followed by a second-place finish at Grand Prix #3 hosted by NWP in 21:51. She then reclaimed the top spot at Grand Prix #4 with a 24:19 performance before winning gold at the ACAC Championships.

GAME ON: A GLIMPSE AHEAD

With her ACAC title secured, Walker now turns her attention to the CCAA National Championships in Prince Edward Island, where she’ll look to finish her remarkable season on a high note.
