ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Tano Torchia played a key role in a weekend sweep for the Keyano Huskies Men’s Soccer team, scoring a pair of game-winning goals and adding an assist.
In Saturday’s 2-1 win against the Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves, Torchia assisted on a goal by Stef Vullinghs in the 62nd minute. In the 80th minute, he scored his fourth goal of the season, which stood up as the game-winning goal in the match. For his efforts, Torchia earned Player of the Game honours.
Sunday, Torchia and the Huskies shutout the Wolves 2-0 with the Kamloops, B.C. product scoring in the 45th minute.
Returning from injury in the 2025 outdoor season, Torchia has impressed with five goals and two assists while starting all 10 of the Huskies’ matches to date. For his ACAC career, Torchia has scored seven goals and four assists in 23 games. His two game-winning goals this weekend gave him four for his ACAC career.
The Huskies are on the home pitch to close out the 2025 outdoor season, hosting the Lakeland Rustlers at SMS Equipment Place for games October 18 and 19. Kick-off is at 1:30pm Saturday and 12:00pm Sunday.
