ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

As the Lakeland College women's volleyball team continues to roll through the ACAC season, Lana Matthews is a big part of their success once again.

The 5th year left-side had another great weekend when the team went south for a road trip to Calgary and Lethbridge. Against the SAIT Trojans, Matthews posted 10 kills, 7 digs, 3 aces and a block in just three sets of play. The following evening against the Lethbridge Kodiaks, Matthews was big in another sweep, with another 10 kills and 4 digs. In total, 20 kills, 3 aces, 11 digs and 1 block, good for four points a set.

Her dynamic, two-way play has made #8 one of the most dominant left-side women's players across the CCAA and she shows no signs of slowing down as Lakeland's winning streak continues. The team sits 7-0, without having dropped a single set this fall.

Lana Matthews is from Sturgeon County, Alberta, playing in her 5th season of eligibility and taking Business Administration at Lakeland College.
