Charlie Conner, SAIT Trojans, Men's Basketball

Charlie Conner said goodbye to his post-secondary athletic career in the best way possible, as he led his SAIT Trojans men's basketball team to their first CCAA National Championship since 1986.

Conner averaged just over 20 points per game in the three-day event, including 15 points in his team's 90-69 quarterfinal win over Holland College, 23 points in the 96-82 victory over George Brown College and another 23 points in SAIT's 96-81 triumph over Dawson College in the championship game.

His performance led him to be named the tournament's Most Valuable Player, joining former Trojans David Joseph and Wayne Gray who also took home award in 1982 and 1986, respectively.

Charlie Conner is a Business Administration student at SAIT.
