Ben Helston, SAIT Trojans, Men's Curling

SAIT Trojans skip Ben Helston led his men's team to a CCAA silver medal this past weekend, earning the post-secondary's first medal at the event since 1986.

The team of Helston, Michael Sharp (third), Chris Collings (second) and Jarrett Kress (lead) went 5-2 in the event's round robin to be the only Western Canadian team to make the playoffs.

In the semifinal, SAIT upset top-ranked Mohawk College to reach the gold medal final, where they fell to Humber College.

Helston is a Business Administration student at SAIT.
