Marcus Master, SAIT Trojans, Men's Basketball

Marcus Masters lived up to his ACAC South Division Player of the Year honour this past weekend, as he led his SAIT Trojans to their sixth consecutive Conference title at the three-day event hosted by Ambrose University.

In their quarterfinal matchup against NAIT on Thursday, Masters poured in 30 points while dishing out four assists and grabbing six rebounds in his team's 88-77 victory.

A night later, the third-year guard scored 26 points - none bigger than a 3-point shot with just six seconds left to take the lead in his team's eventual 71-68 semifinal win over the previously undefeated Keyano College Huskies. He also added five rebounds in the game that saw SAIT keep Keyano to their lowest offensive output of the year - 23 points below their season average of 91 points per game.

Less than 24 hours after his team's emotional win over Keyano, Masters once again paced his Trojans in the tournament's gold medal game against St. Mary's University. He scored 16 points in front of a packed gymnasium en route to hoisting the ACAC trophy following an 84-74 win against the Lightning.

Masters was named the ACAC Men's Basketball Championship MVP after averaging 24 points per game over the course of the event.
