Makenna Fitzgerald, SAIT Trojans, Cross-Country

SAIT's Makenna Fitzgerald accomplished what only three other women in Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) history has ever done - repeat as the Cross-Country Running National Championships women's individual winner.

She did just that this past weekend at the event hosted by Medicine Hat College.

Fitzgerald traversed the snowy course that circled the college in a time of 22:15 (mins:sec) - 22 seconds faster than her nearest competitor. The win caps off a season in which she also won the ACAC Cross-Country Running Championships title for the second year in a row.

Makenna Fitzgerald is a Diagnostic Medical Sonography student at SAIT.
