Edmonton, AB – The 2018 ACAC Cross Country Running season kicked off on Saturday September 8, 2017 with the first Grand Prix series race, sponsored by the Running Room, hosted by Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder.

The course featured a 3km loop and a 2km loop containing a mixture of hard packed gravel, grass and dirt trails. 4 races were ran this morning/afternoon, a 2km and 4km race for younger runners or those looking for a shorter race, a 6km race for the women and an 8km race for the men.
On the women's side, it was Red Deer College's (RDC) Jill Stewart that took the top of the podium with a time of 24:33, finishing just seconds in front of St. Mary's University (STMU) Rebecca Johnson who finished with a time of 24:39. SAIT's Ann Danard rounded out the medal winners with a time of 26:07 to finish in third place.
