Grace Scott Honoured as 2018-19 ACAC Women’s North Volleyball Coach of the Year

Edmonton (February 25, 2019) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce that Grace Scott, Head Coach of The King's University Eagles Women's Volleyball team, has been selected by her ACAC coaching peers as the 2018-19 ACAC Women's Volleyball Coach of the Year for the North Division.

This prestigious award was presented to Scott at the 2019 ACAC Women's Volleyball Provincial Championships Banquet held at Ambrose University. It is Scott's fourth time receiving this award as an ACAC coach, and winner for a second consecutive year (2006-07, 2014-15, 2017-18). During her 11 years as head coach of King's Women's Volleyball program, Scott has led her team to five consecutive provincial berths with a win/loss record of 15-5, 17-7, 21-3, 21-3, and 22-2. Throughout the 2018-19 season, the Eagles have consistently held a top 3 national ranking since November.

"Grace is a dedicated, disciplined and passionate coach and Athletic Director" states VP Student Life Dr. Michael Ferber "Her strong work ethic, decisive leadership, high expectations and commitment to her players have won her the respect of colleagues, athletes and coaches across the province."

With the exception of five players, this year's team is comprised of 13 first and second-year student-athletes. Refusing to have anyone refer to this season as a building year, Scott and her team had their sights on being one of the top teams in the conference since day one. The King's Eagles completed league play in first place in the north division.
