WVB | Nov. 3, 2018 The Lethbridge Kodiaks looked to take one back from the Briercrest Clippers in their double header at home.
Women's volleyball kicked things off Saturday afternoon with an intense first set proving that while the Kodiaks have only aquired one victory so far in the season, they are still able to contend with some of the top teams in the league.
With a score of 18-17 for the Clippers, the Kodiaks took a time out in hopes of pushing past the Clippers to take the first set. However, Briercrest took this opportunity to shift gears for the better. The Clippers would take the first set with a score of 25-17.
After what looked like it might be the end of set two with the Clippers sitting on their match point and the Kodiaks 8 points away, Lethbridge did not settle easily. The Kodiaks managed to get themselves some points which caused some pressure for Briercrest. Nevertheless, the Kodiaks came up short. The Clippers narrowly took set two 25-21.
Lethbridge had a slow start in set three but found some energy when second year Grace Kazanowski provided three massive blocks against Clippers offence. Though the Kodiaks energy gave them some edge near the end they were unable to keep the game going, falling short 25-22.
