Camrose, AB February 21, 2018 – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce Nolan Weinmaster of Briercrest Women's Volleyball has been named the ACAC Women's Volleyball South Coach of the Year.
In his eleventh season as head coach of the women's volleyball team Weinmaster led the team to their most successful season to date with a 23-1 record. The team rattled off 22 straight wins to finish first in the south division. The team has been firmly entrenched in the National rankings all season finishing the season ranked fourth nationally. Weinmaster's team led the ACAC with a league high 1031 kills, which also led to a league best 11.85 kills per set, they also led the league with 925 assists and 10.63 assists per set and 307 service aces good for first in the league by over 100. Their 3.53 service aces per set were tops in the league by almost 1 and a half aces per set.
Nolan has continued to lead his team with a level of excellence for several years. This year has been no different, his team has been performing consistently and at a high rate of efficiency throughout the season. This is Weinmaster's fifth time receiving this award (he was selected in 2009-10, 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2016-217).
Weinmaster is a graduate of Briercrest where he was team captain and the most valuable player for the final three seasons of his playing career at Briercrest, and was named to the ACAC All-Conference Team for the 2005-06 season during his final year as a player.
Weinmaster received the award on February 21, 2018 at the ACAC Women's Volleyball Conference Championship Banquet held in Camrose, Alberta
