CALGARY, AB (Oct. 25, 2018) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce Sean Carey of the Lethbridge College Kodiaks has been named the ACAC South Men's & Women's Coach of the Year.
In the tough ACAC South Men's & Women's division, the Kodiaks persevered thru a season of challenges to lock in their spots in the 2018 soccer championships. In just 2 years at the helm of both programs, Coach Carey has built a new culture in the programs and he and his staff have proven that hard work pays off. This is the first time in ACAC history that the same coach has been recognized by their peers in the same season garnering coach of the year honors for both genders.
"It's hard to find a coach that puts in the time and effort that Sean does. He is truly committed to get the most out of his student athlete's day in and day out and to do it in the right way. Earning this recognition from his fellow division coaches supports that," says Todd Caughlin, Manager of Kodiaks Athletics. "Sean and his staff have committed to the goals of the department and truly exemplifies what every athletics manager wants in a coach. He is there for his student athletes and the department."
Congratulations Sean on an amazing honor and good luck at championships.
Sean Carey received the award on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018 at the ACAC Men's & Women's Soccer Conference Championship Banquet held in Calgary, AB.
