The GPRC Wolves welcomed the Concordia Thunder to the gymnasium Friday night for a double header on the weekend. The Wolves also welcomed ALL Wolves Alumni. Both teams exchanged hoops throughout much of the first quarter. With the game tied at 7 with 5 minutes to go the Wolves took the lead with back to back buckets. First by #7 and then by #15. To add to the lead Sophie Melin sinks a 3 point shot. Wolves up by 7 points. The half ended 17-16 for the Wolves.
The 2nd quarter started with minimal scoring. Concordia was first on the board to make it 19-17, 3 minutes in. The scoring went back and forth until the Thunder pulled away with 2 minutes to go. The half ended Thunder up 35-27. The crowd was entertained during half time with Alumni Bump." Taking the title was Wolves Soccer Alumni from 2013-2016, Regan Clarke.
The Wolves tried to tighten the scoreboard in the 3rd quarter. Getting on the board first with 2, 3 pointers by #10 Lilee Burke-Stasiuk. The Wolves call a time out at 35-46. Thunder continue to put up baskets as they finish off the quarter up 59-38.
Wolves looking to put some points on the scoreclock and even up the score in the 4th quarter. #10 Lilee Burke-Staskiuk hits a 3 point shot to start the quarter for the Wolves. Wolves call a time out with 5 minutes to go in the game. Down by 19 they will try and come out of the time out ready to finish strong. Both teams battled hard, and the score ended 75-50 for the Thunder.
The Mr. Mikes Player of the Game for the GPRC Wolves was #11 Lilee Burke-Stasiuk with 14 points. The Mr. Mikes Player of the Game for the Concordia Thunder was #7 Madison Murdoch with 8 points and 5 rebounds.
