Broncos outpace Lions in home opener

OLDS, Alta. - The Olds College Broncos jumped out to a fast start and never looked back, cruising to a 92-45 victory over the Ambrose University Lions in their home opener at Ralph Klein Centre on Friday.

Olds College (2-1) started out hot, effectively deciding the outcome midway through the opening quarter as they went on a run to end the first up 36-8.

Ambrose (1-2) did its best to claw back some of the deficit in the second quarter, though the Broncos kept pace, taking a 56-28 lead into halftime. From there, the Broncos kept pouring it on, posting a solid third quarter to extend their lead to 78-41.

Kyla Adams (St. Paul, Minn.) was The Pit Player of the Game for the Broncos, while Paige Goertzen took the honour for the Lions.

Olds College and Ambrose University will face off once again on Saturday, with tip-off set for 6 p.m. at the Ralph Klein Centre.
