OOKS TAKE OVER VIKINGS IN A WELL FOUGHT BATTLE

Camrose, AB -

Visiting NAIT Ooks took the lead from hometown Augustana Vikings and never gave it up, despite the crowd cheering heavily for the Vikings success.

The Vikings started off the game strong, winning the first two sets, but the Ooks leveled the playing field by winning the third and forth.

Over the course of the first set, Ooks managed to stay close on the scoreboard all the way to the end, eventually falling to a 28-26 win of the set by the Vikings. The second set played out the same way; the Vikings taking the win with Ooks not too far behind, finishing the second with a score of 25-23. Both teams playing hard, battling to take the upperhand.

In the third set, much to the Vikings' dismay, the Ooks won with a score of 25-21. This was then repeated in the fourth set, which was another close one, with the Ooks taking it with a score of 25-22. In the fifth and final set, fans were on the edge of their seats right until the end of the game, going point for point. The Ooks took the win with a final score of 19-17.

Much of the Ooks success can be credited to #11, Jonathan Shapka, who came out of the game with 13 kills, 8 digs, 5 blocks, and 2 service aces. Taking home player of the game for the Vikings is #3, Rhys Fingas, with 7 kills, 10 digs, 3 blocks, and 3 service aces.
