Trojans beat Lions, finish year at 12-0

CALGARY, ALTA., (Oct. 20, 2018) — The SAIT Trojans men's soccer team finished their Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) regular season in style Saturday afternoon.

A pre-game ceremony to honour fifth-year midfielder Jake Walmsley was followed up with a 4-0 win over the Ambrose University Lions to head into the post-season with a perfect 12-0 record.

"We are now of the understanding that our season is just beginning," said Trojans head coach Connor Brady. "Everything we have done to this point has been wonderful and great, but now it's time to step up and play for keeps."

Rookie midfielder Krishneil Prakash scored twice for the Trojans to be named his team's Player of the Game. Also scoring for SAIT was Dean Northover and Joseph Lambele.

By finishing first in the ACAC's South Division, the Trojans will now have a bye into the ACAC Championship semifinal round in a three-day event that will be held at SAIT's Cohos Commons Field.
