Kings move past Thunder with back-to-back wins

EDMONTON AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder were looking to split the series in the first round of the playoffs against Red Deer College Kings, as the Thunder played host in tonight's match. The Thunder's playoff run ended in the first series, losing tonight's match by a score of 6-1.

The first period was close and the Thunder were able to hold the Kings to 2 goals, but the Kings were able to capitalize on missed chances and force turnovers, going into the second with a 2-0 lead. The Thunder had their chances and some powerful goaltending from #36 Troy Trembley kept the Kings above water.

The Kings came out of the second period on fire. Potting 3 goals in the opening 3 minutes The shutout was broken towards the end of the second for the Kings, by the Thunder's #17 Curtis Peck, which would remain as the Thunders sole goal of the game. Both goalies played great in the 3rd, without allowing another goal.
