Thunder win tonight's game against the Vikings and advance to the finals

The semi-final game against Concordia Thunder and the Augustana Vikings was a physical and aggressive game till the very end. The Thunder looked scattered to start the first, while the Vikings looked calm as they ran through their play and hit a couple three's to stay with the Thunder. The Thunder were able to find a rhythm and get to the basket. The Thunder fell into foul trouble with 3 minutes left of the first which allowed for the Vikings to stay in the game as they capitalized on the free throw line. The Thunder are only up 3 going after the second quarter against the Vikings. To start the second quarter the Thunder's #15 Ronald Bacon went to work in the paint added a couple of buckets to their score. At the 7:30 mark the Vikings starter #21 Nathan Bowie goes down with a leg injury and would not return to the game; a huge asset lost by the Vikings. A physical game continued on both sides of the court and #9 Ryan McLaren of the Thunder hit another three, the last one a buzzer beater to end the second. The Thunder head into halftime up by 10 points with a score of 46-36. The third was dominated by the Thunder as they pushed the ball and what looked like every shot they took. An impressive quarter by the Thunder as they out-score the Vikings by 13 points. This allows the Thunder to get a huge lead going into the fourth quarter with a score of 78-55. The Vikings could not find their momentum seem to not have any baskets fall for them, the Vikings pull their starters to end the quarter after the Thunder went on up on a huge lead. The Thunder end the semi-final match with a win of 100-70 against the Vikings. The players of the game for the Thunder #9 Ryan McLaren with 35 points and 6 rebounds; for the Vikings #9 Michael Stasuik with 23 points and 4 rebounds. The Thunder advance to the final and compete for Gold as the Vikings have a chance to medal tomorrow with bronze.
