Red Deer Kings advance to tomorrow’s game with a win over the Ambrose Lions

The first game of the day against the Red Deer Kings and the Ambrose Lions started off with back to back three-pointers for each team. For the first quarter #10 Khurram Sultan, was hot behind the arc knocking down an impressive 5 three's. The  Lions, however, stay with them and the quarter ends with the Kings up 26-22. The Kings crash the O boards hard, however this result in a couple of fouls on the Kings. The Lions and kings trade baskets back and forth as the Lions keep it close. At the 5 minute mark, the Lions take back the lead. The game moved quickly as both teams look to push the ball and defensive rebounds resulting in fast breaks. With under, a minute left the Lions to push their lead to 11 points and go into half 41-52. The Lions start the second half strong with tough defense. The game would continue with each team trading baskets. The Lions find themselves in in foul trouble which the Kings capitalize on as they tie the game 66-66 at the 2:30 mark of the third quarter. The Lions are able to hold onto the lead at the end of the third 69-71. the last quarter of the Kings come out and take a 4 point lead. The Lions cut it to one point but continued to be a tough game till the very end. The Lions get into foul trouble early putting them into a bad position, the Kings are put on the line late and are able to knock down their foul shots. The Kings come out on top and win this game 93-84. The player of the game for the Ambrose Lions #5 Josh Daniels and for the Red Deer Kings #10 Khurram Sultan.
