February, 16th - The Lethbridge Kodiaks were back in action against the Briercrest Clippers Saturday afternoon.
The Kodiaks said good-bye to a committed member of the team, fifth year Michael Clemons as he completed his course in the exercise science program. Clemons impressively leaves the Kodiaks program holding the ACAC all time assist and steals records.
The Kodiaks showed their control and determination in the first quarter of the game. The Clippers fought hard to challenge the Kodiaks, but Lethbridge kept pushing back. Their confidence on the court led them to advance by the end of the first quarter with a score of 23-12.
The second quarter started out strong for both teams. The Clippers began to close the gap, however the Kodiaks pushed ahead lengthening their lead once again.
The Kodiaks took control of the second quarter and finished it off by almost a 20 point gap between them and the Clippers with a score of 49-30 heading into the third quarter.
The third quarter started off slow, however the Kodiaks soon took control of the ball showing their continuous domination of the court. Kodiaks third year, Orin Porter Jr. led the team with 21 points, as the Clippers first year NIcholas Gregerson led his team with 12 points.
The Kodiaks attained their lead at the end of the third quarter with a score of 79-45.
The Clippers did not let their guard down, fighting hard for every ball. But, the Kodiaks did not let anything get in their way of victory, as they shot every time they had the opportunity.
The Kodiaks achieved their second win in this back to back series with a score of 93-55.
With this win the Kodiaks advance to 10-9 while the Clippers fall to 2-17. The Kodiaks will be back in action next weekend competing against the Olds Broncos.
