Ooks win ACAC Men's Soccer Banner against Rival Huskies

Phillips 10/26/2014...Lloydminster, Alberta -  The word “family” was a key word, along with “guts”, when talking to Keyano Huskies men’s soccer coach Connor Brady about his program this year. Since taking over the program three years ago, Huskies having joined the ACAC soccer conference in 2002, Brady had taken a team that previously had had a best showing of 6th in 2005 ACAC standings, to the top spot in the ACAC and a No. 5 ranking in the CCAA polls.   The Huskies and Brady were at their best when meeting up with the NAIT Ooks.   A rivalry had started early when Brady took over the Huskies program.

NAIT Ooks Women's Soccer Rediscover Golden Moment

 by ACAC Sports Writer Curtis J. Phillips 10/26/2014...Edmonton, Alberta - Pride was on the line. Of the last four possible Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference women’s soccer banners available for contention, the NAIT Ooks have been in every championship final.   They won back-to-back in 2011 and 2012 with their silver place status in 2010 and 2013.   In 2011 the Ooks women would go on to earn silver medal at the 2011 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association finals losing to host Collège François-Xavier-Garneau.   Heading into today’s ACAC women’s finals, presented by Elite Sportswear and Awards, they were pitted against the Medicine Hat Rattlers.

Kayla Michaels of NAIT Honoured as 2014-15 Women's Soccer Player of the Year. Award sponsored by the Alberta Soccer Association.

Edmonton, October 24, 2014 – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference is pleased to announce that Kayla Michaels of the NAIT Ooks has been selected as the 2014-15 ACAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Year.
